Walmart & Millican partner for vaccine event
ATLANTA – In a national effort to help expand adoption of the COVID-19 vaccine, Walmart officials announced a partnership with their mobile wellness program Walmart and Clay Millican, pilot of Stringer Performance and NHRA Top Fuel, to a vaccination and education event during the NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.
Walmart licensed pharmacists will be on hand to vaccinate eligible event attendees from Friday, April 30 to Saturday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m. years and older can walk to receive the first dose of Moderna vaccine during the term of the allocation.
Information on where to get a second dose of the vaccine will be available on site. No insurance is required and there is no cost to receive the vaccine, but patients must bring their insurance card if they have one.
Millican will be available to meet at the Walmart event on Saturday, May 1 at 3 p.m.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with Walmart to encourage running enthusiasts to get vaccinated,” Millican said. “I have been vaccinated for my family, my friends, my community and for my sport because I know it is the key to being able to return to a safer and healthier way of life.
“Walmart is thrilled with this opportunity to partner with the NHRA and Clay Millican for this vaccine event. Our mobile wellness vehicles allow us to be in the community and provide vaccines to as many eligible community members as possible. We want to help the country reopen and can only achieve this through widespread vaccination against COVID-19. This event is helping us get closer to our goal, ”said Nick Infante, vice president of state and local government relations at Walmart.
The immunization event is part of Walmart’s Mobile Wellness Program, a nationwide tour launched in January to expand community health and wellness efforts in tandem with products from Clorox’s program sponsors. , Kleenex and GSK. As part of these events, the Mobile Wellness Program will generate education and awareness of Walmart’s wellness services, as well as education on vaccine efficacy and safety to combat the hesitations and increase the vaccination rate.
