Vroom Drag Meet is back with its 6th edition: Vroom 2022 dates, times, categories and registration details

Each year, VROOM brings together passionate runners and racing enthusiasts across the country to engage in serious competition. The goal? Racers are required to clock the fastest time over a quarter-mile section of the track. Timings are officially calculated by the FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India), which presides over races and time sheets.
Ahead of VROOM Drag Meet 6th Edition 2022, here is a brief look at the premier drag racing event in India.

March 4 – Day 1
Starting early, the first day will be dedicated to the exam and final check-in procedures. There are no races scheduled on Day 1.

Participants and their machines will be scrutinized by the watchful eyes of race officials. Vehicles will be inspected to ensure standard safety practices are followed and to quickly identify issues that may impede machine operation at the event.

In addition, the conformity of the participants’ driving equipment is also checked. Participants competing in the two-wheeled segments must (mandatory) wear a leather racing suit with back and knee protectors, as well as full-length racing boots, full-cuff gloves and an appropriate full-face helmet with Double-D rings.

Those competing in their four-wheeled machines must wear protective helmets, running shoes and gloves. In a nutshell, expect riding/riding gear and machine overhauls and inspections on Day 1.

March 5 – Day 2
Welcome to race day! Day 2 will see Indian cars and motorcycles on the track, racing the quarter mile in an attempt to achieve the fastest times. From stock cars and bikes to modified monsters on wheels, the fastest Indian-made machines will engage in a battle of the best.

Whether it’s two-strokes or four-strokes, small bikes or big bikes, there are takers for enthusiasts in every segment. If cars are your jam, everything from the humble Maruti Suzuki Zen to the hyper Honda City sedans pushing hundreds of horsepower should take off. We don’t know about you, but we think this should make for an exciting time on the drag strip.

March 6 – Day 3
The final and perhaps most anticipated day of the drag meet will see records set and broken. Also on the program is a visual feast for the eyes and ears with supercars and superbikes taking to the drag strip. Get ready for one of the loudest days of your life!

The fastest (and loudest) supercars and superbikes across the country will engage in an epic competition to win the title in their respective categories. The hot rods Suzuki Hayabusa and BMW S1000RR will compete to delight motorcycle enthusiasts.
If you love your supercars, you’re in for a treat with Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, and more hitting the track.

Rankings
Proper classification of vehicles is crucial to ensure fair competition. There are currently 35 classifications in 4 wheels and 20 in two wheels.

However, it is essential to note that a minimum of 10 entries is required to form a class. In an effort to be more inclusive and diverse, a separate ranking for female riders and handlers joins the party. Here’s to showcasing more women in motorsport!
