This is a brand new Spanish sports car with a capacity of 770 kg and 500 hp
It’s the Baltasar Revolt – a brand new all-electric sports car from a Barcelona-based company that appears to have a solo mission to create “the purest electric cars for the racetrack”.
Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Gets even better when you also hear headline stats. It’s properly light – seriously, it tips the scales at just 770kg all-in. Oh, and the twin-engine rear-wheel drive setup means there’s 500bhp, 738 lb-ft of torque (or a nice round of 1000Nm) and a 0-62mph time of just 2.5 seconds. .
The mid-mounted battery is a 700V unit that can apparently deliver over 373 miles of range, or up to 40 minutes of running at racing speeds. Baltasar says everything about the Revolt has been developed in-house and the 250kg battery is the result of collaboration with Spanish high-performance battery maker Millor. Oddly enough, the charging port is located in the dashboard, but plug it into a fairly quick outlet and you’ll get an extra 62 miles of range in just five minutes. Fast.
It’s fully road-approved, but there’s not much in the way of creatures or comfort inside. Almost everything is carbon fiber, the steering wheel is removable, and the seating position has apparently been inspired by F1.
All body panels and diffuser are also carbon, while the suspension is aircraft aluminum and Kevlar, and the chassis means it will comply with FIA safety regulations.
Each rear wheel has its own motor, so there is a torque vector, and the level of regenerative braking can be adjusted using the dial to the left of the steering wheel. There are also eco driving, training, racing and qualifying modes.
The project was kept under wraps until the very end, so the Uprising is currently available to order and the first deliveries will take place in the second half of next year. Each is handcrafted, remember. The only problem? This will cost you € 230,000 before taxes. Ouch…
