Milton Keynes MP is reserving his Covid vaccine and calling on others to rally to do the same
MP for the North, Ben Everitt, launched a rallying call for over 40s across the borough as he reserved his own Covid vaccine today.
Mr. Everitt encourages MK residents not to dodge the hit and to do the same when it is their turn.
Last week, anyone aged 40 or over before July 1 was asked to be vaccinated. The program continues to make great strides, with the UK hitting the 50 million shot mark over the weekend.
But Mr Everitt wants to make sure the high levels of immunization continue as we move down the age brackets.
He said: “In the last count, over 90% of those over 70 with MK had received both doses of the COVID vaccine and almost 94% of those over 45 had received their first, which is fantastic progress. , but it is vital that we are not complacent now.
“Each blow is another beacon of hope in our fight against the pandemic and a further step towards freedom, so when you get a call or a text please get the vaccine.
Statistics from the NHS last week revealed that up to April 25, 44,776 second doses had been administered across MK so far, with 167,355 total doses delivered since the start of the vaccination program.
The government aims to offer all adults in the UK a dose of the vaccine by the end of July.
