Maserati Project24 is not road legal. It complies with FIA racing safety requirements.

Maserati has unveiled its new limited-edition super sports car. It’s called Project24 and only 62 units will be built, making it extremely rare. What makes it even more unique is that it is specifically developed for track use and is not homologated for road use. Thus, there will be no Project24 on regular routes.

The Project24 is based on the MC20 but Maserati has improved several components. The engine is the same 3.0-liter V6 but now gets upgraded twin turbochargers. This helped increase the power from 630 hp to 740 hp. The 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox was dropped and replaced by a 6-speed sequential racing gearbox with paddle shifters which still drives only the rear wheels. Maserati uses a dry-sump configuration with a racing clutch and a limited-slip self-locking mechanical differential. The dry weight of the Project24 is less than 1240 kg.

The monocoque chassis and bodywork are made of carbon fiber. There is an adjustable front and rear wing which helps with downforce. The windows are now made of Lexan which is not a type of glass but a polycarbonate resin thermoplastic. There are front LED lights, adjustable pedals and steering column, 6-point seat belt, multifunction steering wheel made up of carbon fiber with an integrated display, dashboard and steering system. data acquisition, air conditioning and racing ABS and traction control.

Braking duties are performed by Brembo brakes with racing calipers and bespoke brake cooling. Maserati uses 18-inch forged aluminum wheels with central locking and slick tires. The suspension functions are ensured by a double wishbone with a semi-virtual steering axis. There are adjustable racing shocks and adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars.

The Project24 also complies with FIA racing safety requirements. There are a bunch of additional options offered by Maserati. Passenger seat, rear camera, telemetry recording, on-board camera for video recording, tire pressure monitoring system and driving performance optimization display are offered as options.
