Magic Dragon Street Meet returns on April 29

The popular 33rd Annual Lake of the Ozarks Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals Auto Show will be held Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, May 2 on the Strip in Lake Ozark.
The auto show is returning to its normal place on the calendar after being delayed for several months last year due to fear of COVID-19.
The Street Meet Nationals is a one-stop show for all makes, models and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles. The Strip will be closed to normal traffic during show hours (approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on Saturday, May 1, so only show vehicles are allowed inside the boundaries. This allows spectators to browse the hundreds of vehicles that will be staged between Henderson Road and Bagnell Dam.
Residents who live within the auto show perimeters will be required to have a âResident Passâ to walk through the auto show and reach their residence on Saturdays during show hours. Residents must have received their pass by mail. Passes are distributed by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, 1 Wilmore Lane in Lake Ozark. Vehicles without a pass will not be allowed to travel on a closed road on Saturday.
With the Strip closed, vehicles wishing to cross the Bagnell Dam will use Valley Road.
Parking for spectators will be in the large parking lot at the bottom of the Strip, under the dam, at Lake Ozark Christian Church and Christ the King Lutheran Church. Parking for people with reduced mobility will be available in the parking lot of the Heritage School.
Shuttles will run all day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with multi-passenger golf carts and shuttles. The shuttle stops will be located at the top and bottom of the Strip and halfway on the Strip.
Particularities
⢠Bigfoot returns, and it’s not the elusive creature that supposedly roams the backcountry. Back by popular demand, the Bigfoot Monster Truck will be on display near the top of the Strip.
⢠Several schools in the lake area will be participating in a pedal building competition, also up the Strip. Students will build functional pedal vehicles from display and judging kits. There will be no real pull on the pedal.
And so onâ¦
⢠Some people say the Lake of the Ozarks, which is over 90 miles long, looks like a large dragon from the air as it winds through the hills of central Missouri. Several years ago it became known as “The Land of the Magical Dragon”. At the first auto show in 1987, the name “Magic Dragon” was used and it has remained to this day.
⢠For public health, signs are posted on the Bagnall Dam strip urging everyone to practice social distancing and several hand sanitizer stations have been provided by the City of Lake Ozark.
⢠The Lake Ozark Rotary Daybreak Club donates a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro with proceeds donating to local organizations. For more information, see the club’s Facebook page.
