Inside Scoop: Trail Mix Ice Cream is a Fun Treat

I know it’s been a few weeks since I reviewed ice cream for this column. We all know 2020 has been a tough year and I found that I just needed a little breather. However, I can’t stay away from ice cream for long and when I went to get gas in my car the other day I walked over to the ice cream aisle and I had to grab this Cumberland Farms Ultimate Scoop Ice Cream from the Trail Mix. Twist flavor.

This ice cream is exactly what it looks like. Here we have vanilla ice cream with a bunch of trail mix and a swirl of mixed fudge.
The ice cream itself is pretty basic vanilla, but the mixes make it a very special and fun treat.
Trail Mix includes candy-coated chocolate chunks as well as chocolate-coated pretzels, almonds, peanuts, and even raisins. I have to say the brand didn’t skimp because with just a few bites I was able to try all the different mixes in this frozen delight.
I found the pretzels to be crunchy, the almonds and peanuts were fresh and tasty, and the candies were just the right amount of chocolate. I didn’t like the raisins, but that’s because I don’t really like chocolate covered raisins and wasn’t a fan of the sticky texture.
The fudge swirl has pretty cheap chocolate in it, so I can’t say it was my favorite, but I didn’t hate it either.

I give this treat 4 out of 5 scoops because it’s a fun and tasty ice cream combo and I’d be happy to eat it again.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2021 so far! I can’t wait to see what the ice cream world has to offer this year.
