MOORESVILLE, NC – Four-time NHRA Pro Stock champion Greg Anderson will wear the HendrickCars.com colors on his KB Racing entry for the remainder of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.
“We are very grateful to be part of the Hendrick Automotive Group family. It’s a whole team and I’m particularly honored to be driving the Chevrolet Camaro HendrickCars.com for the remainder of the year, ”said Anderson. “Living here in the heart of NASCAR country is a hotbed for motorsport, and being able to represent the Hendrick name in drag racing is truly an enjoyable experience for us. We cannot thank Rick Hendrick and everyone at Hendrick Automotive Group enough for this honor. “
Anderson joins Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR driver Kyle Larson as HendrickCars.com this year. The classic red, white and blue design pays homage to Hendrick’s late son Ricky Hendrick, who drove a similar scheme when he competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Xfinity Series in 2001 and 2002.
“This paint scheme means a lot to me and my family, and we’re proud that Greg wears the HendrickCars.com colors for the rest of the season,” said Rick Hendrick, president and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group, based at Charlotte. “He’s a local hero who is popular with loyal drag racing fans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we’re thrilled to be able to support Greg’s pursuit for NHRA history.
HendrickCars.com, Hendrick Automotive Group’s online retail website, invites customers to purchase thousands of new, certified and used cars, trucks and SUVs. The site provides convenient navigation and allows people to select the features that are important to them while saving any vehicle in a favorites list for comparisons and future navigation. Customers can call or chat online with one of Hendrick Automotive Group’s experienced teammates to answer their questions or make an appointment at one of the company’s 93 national dealerships.
Anderson made his Chevrolet Camaro debut at HendrickCars.com at zMAX Dragway with strong results, winning his fourth No.1 qualifier of the season in four starts. The pole was the 110th No. 1 qualifying prize of his career; only two drivers in any NHRA professional series have more – John Force has 161 in Funny Car and Warren Johnson has 138 in Pro Stock.
On Sunday Anderson took the first round victory in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet and tied Top Fuel’s Tony Schumacher for the third all-time round victory with 850. Anderson, who was one lap away for fear of winning the title de Charlotte, is just one victory away from tying Johnson for the most wins in the ultra-competitive Pro Stock category.
“We’ve had two wins in four races so far this year, and my car has been almost perfect,” he said. “Those next milestones are coming, and being able to accomplish them with the Chevrolet Camaro HendrickCars.com will mean a lot to all of us. We can’t wait to get into the next race and get back to work. “
