Happy Fish Fry Friday: Help Us Find the Best of Michigan
Michigan loves good fry.
We had over 275 nominations in the first 24 hours after announcing our search for Michigan’s Best Fish Fry. Nominations have poured in from all parts of the state, including familiar places like the classic Lenten Fish Fry at your local Catholic Church to the little bars of Northern Michigan.
We all appreciate them.
Check out the massive list of nominations we compiled and released on Thursday afternoon.
Now we need these nominations to keep coming.
Even if your favorite place is already on the list above, we love to read your comments. This helps us determine our next visits.

How to name
Using the application form below, please fill it out completely. This is the best way to make sure your favorite place is on one of our regional surveys. Voting begins next week.
As always, if you have any questions about this research or any suggestions for future research, please feel free to email us:

We’re looking for popular churches, VFW venues, Knights of Columbus clubs, and even restaurants and bars that have popular Fish Fry nights on Fridays, not just during Lent, but year round.
The deadline for applications is Sunday, February 28 at 11:59 p.m.
After that, Michigan’s Best Journalist Amy Sherman and I’ll organize the nominees into regional polls and you can vote for your favorites next week.
Our goal is to declare a winner in each region.
We will also go to as many people as possible and share our experiences.
