Ferrucci continues IndyCar race with RLL in Detroit doubles program

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will retain Santino Ferrucci for the NTT IndyCar Series doubles program this weekend in Detroit. The Connecticut native, who returned to the top of the Indy 500 team with a sixth place finish in the No.45 Honda, will join Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato at Belle Isle when testing begins on Friday.
âI’m delighted to be competing in both races in Detroit after a fantastic race at the Indy 500,â said Ferrucci, who will be making his third appearance at the event. âKeeping up the momentum in Detroit is huge for the team. Hy-Vee is partnered with Frito-Lay, so we’ll have Chester Cheetah and the Cheetos brand on the car, which I think is pretty awesome. It’s a fantastic track and I’m delighted to be coming back to Detroit as we didn’t have the chance to race there in 2020. â
Support from Hy-Vee, the Midwestern grocery chain, is responsible for Ferrucci’s comeback, and after branding its stores featuring the # 45 Honda leading up to the Indy 500, the relationship with RLL seems to be developing.
âThe enthusiasm and energy that the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team brings to our partnership is unlike any other,â said Randy Edeker, President of Hy-Vee. âThe team really cares about their fans, just like we care about our customers at Hy-Vee. Since signing on as a sponsor last year, we’ve heard from people across the country talking about our involvement in the race and we look forward to what the rest of the season has to offer.
