Engines ready to roar at the Saskatchewan International Raceway
They will very soon be consolidated into one location just outside of Saskatoon.
Saskatchewan International Raceway is set to return with a slightly reduced schedule. However, the engines will roar just as loud and the cars will hurtle down the track as fast as ever on opening night.
“It will be Friday June 11,” said Shawn Zezula, SIR’s track manager.
“We start with the right of the street, then Saturday and Sunday we have a race every day. “
Saskatchewan’s Wyant Group Raceway plans to race through the summer
There will be a limit of 150 spectators allowed on the track to start the season.
SIR hopes the restrictions will ease once the province enters Stage 2 of its road reopening on June 20.
With limited spectators, the track has decided to start the season without calling on its sponsors.
“We don’t go to any of our sponsors. If some of our sponsors want to help us and donate to us, yes we will, ”Zezula said.
“But we just felt, as a group, don’t do it. Hopefully everyone will be okay with it. And next year, my fingers crossed, 2022 will be a whole new season. “

“We are definitely growing here by leaps and bounds.”
