A rallying cry for the victims of the Soufrière volcano

US VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Governor’s Office and the Department of Tourism encourage residents to donate supplies and funds for the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The items donated will benefit the more than 20,000 residents displaced by the eruptions of the La Soufrière volcano. Most of the displaced residents are currently in shelters.

Several USVI government entities including the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) and the Virgin Islands Fire Service, local businesses, community organizations and individuals donate their services. MARCO Trucking (St. Croix), The Westin St. John Resort Villas and Grade All Heavy Equipment, Inc. (St. Thomas) contributed time and resources. Tropical Shipping is shipping containers full of items donated free of charge.
