A look at his impressive garage
On Monday, Jaggi Vasudev, known as Sadhguru, embarked on a 30,000km journey from the UK to India, as part of his ‘Save Soil; awareness campaign. The 64-year-old yoga guru will spend the next 100 days riding the BMW K1600 GT motorcycle, cruising through Europe and the Middle East.
While many have viewed this endeavor as part of a good cause, most are apparently surprised by Sadhguru’s motorcycle skills. Many do not know that in addition to transmitting the wisdom of life, he also has a deep passion for automobiles. Don’t believe us? Let’s take a quick look at his garage.
Mercedes-Benz GG-Class 63 AMG (Rs 2.44 crore)
The ‘Save Soil’ awareness campaign is not Sadhguru’s first rodeo on wheels. In 2017, his Isha Foundation organized a Rally for Rivers program, which saw him drive his Mercedes Benz G63 AMG from Kanyakumari to Haridwar. With the creature comforts offered on the Merc, we bet he had a pretty cozy time. The Merc is powered by a 5461cc V8 twin-turbo petrol engine, which develops 551hp of power and 760Nm of torque.
1000PS Toyota Scion (not available in India)
Along with being a poet, yogi, and New York Times bestselling author, Sadhguru also considers himself a trail enthusiast. In a video titled ‘Sadhguru on the racetrack’, the spiritual speaker can be seen taking instructions from Christian Rado, a professional racing driver, before taking the car for a spin himself.
Speaking of which, the heavily modified car in the video is called the Toyota Scion. It is said to develop around 1000 bhp and reach a top speed of 338 km/h. While exact details are unknown, the car appears to sport a big turbocharger, bigger brakes, new suspension setup and custom intake and exhaust.
BMW K 1600 GT (Rs 29.98 lakh)
For his journey of 30,000 km alone to India, Sadguru used his faithful steed: the BMW K 1600 GT. Not only does the Beemer sport all the bells and whistles needed for a long ride like this, it also has a decently powerful motor. It is powered by a 1.6-liter six-cylinder engine developing 160 hp and 174 Nm of torque.
Ducati Multistrada 1260 (Rs 21.42 lakh)
In addition to the BMW tourer, Sadhguru also has an Italian muncher. And just like the K 1600 GT, the Multistrada 1260 also comes with a host of user-friendly features such as different riding modes, semi-active suspension, wheel control, quick shifting and more. It is powered by a 1262cc L-twin engine that develops 158hp at 9500rpm and a peak torque of 129.5Nm.
Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled (Rs 10.89 lakh)
Another impressive addition to his garage is the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. In fact, in 2018, a video of Sadhguru and Baba Ramdev on the Scrambler went viral. The Italian motorcycle not only looks the part, it packs a punch, too. It is powered by an 803cc air-cooled engine, which develops 76hp of power and 66.2Nm of torque.
